01Requirements

What you need.

ChatGPT planPlus, Pro, Business or Enterprise. Kleo is added as a custom connector in Developer mode, and whether Developer mode is offered can depend on the account or workspace.
Kleo accountNothing to create in advance. Kleo’s page opens during the connection; one click on Start free and the account exists, with 7 credits, no form and no card: one animatic.
AddressOne server address, the same for every client: https://mcp.kleooai.com/mcp.
CostConnecting and planning cost nothing. Credits are spent only when a render is accepted, and ChatGPT asks you to confirm before that happens.

02Connect

Connect Kleo to ChatGPT.

These are the tested steps. The connector is created once; from then on Kleo is one switch in the + menu of any chat.

ChatGPT developer mode

Open Settings → Apps & Connectors (called Connectors in older versions), then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode.
Back in Connectors, choose Create: name it Kleo, paste the address below, set authentication to OAuth, and save.
Kleo’s page opens: click Start free and you’re back in ChatGPT. That click is the whole sign-up — the account now exists with 7 credits, with no form and no card.
In a chat, turn on Kleo from the + menu and ask for the video. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it starts a render.

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s assistant. Kleo is a separate service that ChatGPT reaches through a custom connector; the same address works in Claude, Grok, Claude Code, Cursor and any other MCP client — see the connection page.

03The first film

Ask for the film you want.

Say four things and Kleo can start: the subject, the length, the format and the look. Whatever the request leaves out, Kleo asks for in one message before any planning happens — it never picks a subject or a length for you.

“Use Kleo to make a 30-second film about a tiny boat crossing a quiet lake at dawn. Realistic look, English narration, 16:9 for YouTube. Show me the treatment and the exact credits before you start the render.”

SubjectWhat the film is about, in plain words. Audience, tone and anything that must appear are optional and welcome.
LengthA film 15 seconds to 5 minutes; an animatic 15 to 60 seconds.
Format16:9 for YouTube or any landscape screen, 9:16 for a Short or any vertical feed.
LookRealistic — generated live-action footage, cinematic — or animation, a 2D animated film. In a film every shot is generated as moving footage from its own frame, in both looks; an animatic of the same storyboard keeps the drawn frames under a moving camera, with no generated clip.
NarrationOne narrator, in English or Italian, with a male or female voice. No background music, no captions, no on-screen text.

04Production

How the production runs.

Kleo is a set of tools that ChatGPT calls in a fixed order. You see every step in the chat, and you keep the last word before anything is spent.

The treatment

Reads your request against the intake and returns the treatment: logline, angle, opening, acts, ending, look, pacing, narrator. ChatGPT tells you the logline and the decisions it took; change whatever you want.

02 kleo_storyboard_guide

The storyboard

Explains how the storyboard is written — direction block, scenes, shots, limits — and ChatGPT writes it under the treatment.

03 kleo_create_video

The confirmation

Checks everything and states the exact credits. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it starts: this is the only moment credits are spent, and a refused call charges nothing.

04 kleo_wait_for_video · kleo_get_result

The render and the delivery

The film is rendered on a GPU rented for that job. It typically takes 25–35 minutes — the server says so when the job starts — and kleo_wait_for_video or kleo_get_job report the progress in the same chat. Then kleo_get_result returns the links. You download an MP4 in 4K (3840×2160 or 2160×3840) at 60 fps; the link is good for 7 days. Kleo never publishes to YouTube, TikTok or any channel — that stays with you.

05Progress

Follow the render.

Once you have confirmed, stay in the same chat and ask for progress on that job: ChatGPT calls kleo_wait_for_video and reports back. Do not start a second job to check on the first one — every accepted job spends its own credits. When the render is done, ask for the result and download the MP4 within 7 days. If you change your mind while it runs, ask ChatGPT to cancel: kleo_cancel_job stops the render and refunds the unspent credits.

What comes back.

Tether, a 20-second film in Kleo’s realistic look: one unbroken pull-back that opens inside the helmet, on the astronaut’s face and his breath on the glass; a gloved hand comes up, the visor floods red, and the camera keeps backing away as he drifts, arms open, until the gold line running up from his pack meets the station and its solar arrays. Every frame is generated footage.

07Credits

Credits and price.

On connecting7 credits, no form, no card: one animatic.
Per film1 credit = 2 seconds, rounded up, 10 credits minimum, whatever the look: 15 s = 10 · 30 s = 15 · 60 s = 30 · 3 min = 90 · 5 min = 150. A film is made only for accounts that have bought a pack.
Per animatic5 credits flat, 15 to 60 seconds, whatever the look, for every account.
Packs€5 = 10 credits · €15 = 35 · €40 = 100. One-off Stripe checkout in EUR, no subscription.
First ShortThe 7 starter credits buy an animatic, never a film; with the €5 pack you have 17, the film opens, and that is enough for a 30-second Short (15 credits).
Account pageAsk ChatGPT for your Kleo account: kleo_account gives the balance and the checkout links. The Kleo key it shows is private — whoever has it owns the account, so keep it out of screenshots.

08Troubleshooting

If something does not work.

No Developer mode in Settings.

Custom connectors need ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise, and availability of Developer mode can depend on the account or workspace. If the option is missing, that is the plan or the workspace, not the address.

Kleo is not in the + menu.

The connector has to be saved in Connectors with authentication set to OAuth, then turned on in each chat from the + menu. Check that the address is exactly https://mcp.kleooai.com/mcp.

Authorization failed.

Open the Kleo connector again and redo the authorization: Kleo’s page opens, click Start free and you’re back in ChatGPT.

ChatGPT asks for a confirmation.

That is by design: ChatGPT asks before a render starts, and kleo_create_video has already stated the exact credits. Nothing is charged until you say yes and the job is accepted.

Not enough credits.

A film costs at least 10 credits and is made only for accounts that have bought a pack; the starter balance is 7, which buys an animatic. Ask for your account page and add the €5 pack: 17 credits cover a 30-second Short.

The render seems slow.

25–35 minutes on a rented GPU is the usual time. Ask for the status of the same job instead of submitting it again; if you want to stop, ask to cancel and the unspent credits come back.

The link no longer works.

Download links are good for 7 days. Download the MP4 as soon as it arrives and keep your own copy.

The request was refused.

A film is 15 seconds to 5 minutes, 16:9 or 9:16, in the realistic or animation look, narrated in English or Italian. A refused call charges nothing — adjust the request and ask again.
