A practical method
- List every external asset and its original source.
- Save the applicable permission or license information.
- Identify unresolved uses before the final edit is approved.
An example brief to adapt
Create an asset record for the files I plan to add after downloading the film. Include the file name, creator, source, usage terms, required credit and verification status. Leave unknown fields unresolved rather than inferring ownership.
Review before moving on
- Is the original source recorded?
- Are required credits included?
- Are uncertain permissions resolved by the owner?
Record a concrete observation beside each check: a line in the treatment, a source passage or a timestamp in the downloaded film. If you cannot inspect an item yet, leave it open. A request in a brief is an intention; the result is what must be reviewed.

What to avoid
This production record is not a legal clearance opinion. When a use is uncertain or consequential, obtain the appropriate permission or qualified advice rather than guessing from a search result.
