A practical method
- Decide whether you need to test structure or deliver moving footage.
- Check the selected product and current quote before starting.
- Review the limitations of the preview before treating it as approval of the final film.
An example brief to adapt
Prepare a 30-second animatic to assess the pacing of a fictional harbor story. I am reviewing the sequence and narration, not approving final moving footage. Show the treatment and current credit cost before submitting the job.
Review before moving on
- Is the chosen product explicit?
- Does the review match what it can demonstrate?
- Is another production step budgeted?
Record a concrete observation beside each check: a line in the treatment, a source passage or a timestamp in the downloaded film. If you cannot inspect an item yet, leave it open. A request in a brief is an intention; the result is what must be reviewed.

What to avoid
Do not assume the animatic cost is automatically deducted from a later film or that it guarantees the same final visual behavior. Confirm the current terms and workflow.
