A practical method
- Save the job identifier returned at submission.
- Ask for the existing job's status after an interruption.
- Create another job only after deciding what to do with the first.
An example brief to adapt
Check the status of the existing Kleo job whose identifier I supplied. Do not create a replacement render. If it is still running, report its current state; if it has finished, retrieve its result; if it has failed, show the available error information.
Review before moving on
- Are you checking the correct job?
- Has a duplicate request been avoided?
- Is completion confirmed by the result rather than an estimate?
Record a concrete observation beside each check: a line in the treatment, a source passage or a timestamp in the downloaded film. If you cannot inspect an item yet, leave it open. A request in a brief is an intention; the result is what must be reviewed.

What to avoid
A progress estimate is not a delivery guarantee. Slow progress does not by itself show that the job has stopped or that another submission is necessary.
